This backyard remodeling project brought a new contemporary look to this beautiful home in the Belmont Addition Conservation District in Dallas. The first phase of the design included major pool remodeling with a new dry deck addition and removal of the existing spa, patio cover extension, and a new patio, pool deck, and driveway design to engage all areas seamlessly within the backyard to provide larger space for entertaining. The main challenge for this project was to transform the limited space between the house, driveway, and pool into a multifunctional outdoor living and entertainment space, while changing the functionality of the pool to be compatible with the new homeowners’ lifestyle, and meeting the conservation district’s code requirements.
The second phase happened less than a year after the initial installation to complete this outdoor living space. The barbecue enclosure is veneered with lueder limestone with a subway tile cut, and the countertop is the same material. We matched this to the pool by incorporating the pool's waterline tile in the backsplash of the enclosure. A trellis was added to the garage. The trellis matches to the existing architectural details to look as if was part of the original intention of the garage.
